colorful glasses

If you’ve been wearing glasses for a number of years, you know that at a certain point you start to experiment with different looks. After all, it gets boring to wear the same size, shape, or type of glasses frame over and over, year after year.

As of the writing of this article, I’m wearing a pair of bold glasses frames which are blue aviator frames that are a little bit retro and a whole lot of chic. I felt like I needed a change, and these cool glasses fit my mood right now.

Colorful glasses frames are also loads of fun. You can literally chase the blues away by wearing a bright pink pair of glasses frames. Drake who’s been spotted in bright fuchsia frames immortalized his glasses in his song ‘4PM in Calabasas’ with these lyrics “Got the rose pink-tinted lenses, it’s a Wednesday.”

Ready for a fun change? Choose a pair of bold statement glasses in a new color that flatters your hair, skin tone and wardrobe, or something unexpected that shows off your personality.

Trend 1

Desert tones

If you’re not sure that you want to take a deep dive into color, opt for something pale and subtle. We love the idea of a pale sand-colored frame that adds just a bit of interest to your face. These beige glasses won’t overwhelm your features and are great for a neutral look.

Trend 2

Dusty pink

If you like just a hint of color, choose a frame that adds more of a veil of color rather than a pop. Dusty, sheer pinks look great when you’re too tired for makeup or simply want to add a subtle accent point to your outfit. For women, wearing a slightly darker shade of lipstick adds tone-on-tone interest. For businessmen, or guys dressing up for an occasion, a pale pink shirt or tie, with light pink glasses shows that you’re not the typical guy but are open to playing with your personal style.

These pink eyeglasses are bold glasses frames but very soft coloring for a combo that looks flattering and not overwhelming.

Trend 3

Apple red

There’s something incredibly fun and exciting about red glasses. After all, you have to be pretty confident to rock a pair of red glasses frames. They’re also a great distraction technique. If you tend to be a night owl, red frames will offer a diversion from any bags under your eyes. It’s hard not to see heart eyes when you look at this selection of red glasses frames.

Trend 4

Neon Glasses

While some of us are completely comfortable wearing our specs at all times, it’s a bit more complicated for others. For instance, athletic types might feel a bit constrained by their glasses frames, even when they’re not playing sports. Neon frames offer a high-energy look that gives the impression of movement even when sitting still. Choose a cool color that adds interest to even the most boring t-shirt. These Revel League frames in yellow or green are so fun, we bet they’d be a great conversation starter. They also look great with a darker tint.

Trend 5

Purple frames

What is it about purple frames that look so cute? Maybe it’s the fact that they make us want to break out in song (.. Purple frames, purple frames… with apologies to Prince!), or the fact that purple frames come in so many different variations from sheer lilac to deep grape. We think that purple frames are so awesome because they look good on pretty much everyone. Check out these purple eyeglasses for your next colorful look.

Trend 6

Multicolor frames

If you’ve never been able to choose a favorite shade, maybe it’s time for all the colors. We love the way that colorful frames show off your personality in addition to your excellent taste. Go for a safe option like a classic tortoiseshell design, or opt for an explosion of color that looks like confetti. Or choose an option with a trendy color contrast between front and temples. These coach frames have pops of royal blue and mauve for a subtle color exploration.

Trend 7

Try a colored prescription lens

One of the best kept secrets of Hollywood is the way slightly older stars start wearing subtly tinted glasses to hide their wrinkles or bags around their eyes. These spectacular Ray-Ban glasses are perfect if you are looking for lenses with color.
