Retro style with a twist
ByLeeonMarch 27, 19
Overall, I'm happy with these glasses. At first I wondered whether they made me look "retro" or just old; however, the consensus now seems to be retro. My only significant concerns were that the glasses arrived twisted slightly at the bridge, and not in what opticians call 4-point-alignment. I contacted GlassesUSA and they said I could either have the glasses adjusted by a local optician or return them for replacement. I struggled with whether to ask a local optician to do this work because it's online companies that are making local opticians obsolete. However, I did go to an optician and offered to pay to have the glasses adjusted. One refused out of fear of damaging the anti-glare coating. However, another graciously adjusted them for me for free, though I had to do a further adjustment with a hair dryer at home (to heat and bend one of the arms). In the future, I'll probably buy metal frames rather than plastic, because they're easier to adjust at home. Overall, though, I'm now happy with the glasses. Glasses USA does a very nice job of filling the prescriptions with precision, though the 2-week wait was a bit hard to take in this era of instant results....
